How it works
SunBoard
SunBoard is Solbian’s first rigid solar panel, developed specifically for applications requiring a stable, non-flexing structure. The honeycomb-backed construction provides the stiffness needed for lifeline mounting while maintaining low weight and a slim overall profile. This makes it particularly suitable as a sailboat lifeline solar panel where stability and ease of handling are essential.
Upper fixing
The upper part of the panel is secured to the upper lifeline and adjacent stanchions by means of high-strength cords passing through reinforced eyelets positioned along the perimeter. This multi-point fixing system keeps the panel stable when stowed and helps limit unwanted movement in navigation.
Sliding and tilting system
The lower edge of the panel is connected to an aluminium tilt arm fitted with clips that slide along the lifeline. This system allows the panel to be positioned and tilted from 0° to 90°, making it possible to optimize solar exposure throughout the day.

As a rigid lifeline solar panel, SunBoard is suited to sailing yachts and other boats where a dedicated boat lifeline solar panel can make use of otherwise underused space. Installed along the railing, it offers a practical solar panel for sailboat railing application, combining secure mounting, mechanical simplicity and effective energy generation in a compact system.
